[elrepo-devel] Announcement: EL5 kmod-r8192se testing release

Announcing the release of the kmod-r8192se package in the
elrepo-testing repository:

http://elrepo.org/tiki/kmod-r8192se

This package provides the kernel module for Realtek RTL819x WiFi cards.

It has been provided as a result of an RFE:

http://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=76

and is kABI compatible with all kernels from 5.0 (kernel-2.6.18-8.el5) upwards.

It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of
releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one
specific build.

NOTE: Due to the appearance of a bug in el5.5, *updating* of kmod
packages is broken with el5.5.

Depending whether the updated
module-init-tools-3.3-0.pre3.1.60.el5.elrepo package has already been
installed, it may be necessary for users of el5.5 to *install* this
package by:

yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrepo-testing install kmod-r8192se
