[elrepo-devel] Kernel-ml and Enterprise Linux 5 -- A Consultation

Hi

I have not used this package but if it gives the benefits of up to date libraries like GLIBC I would definitely try it out.  I run BOINC on my Centos 5 Linux server and it cannot run some projects because the 5 libraries are too old.  I also am not very good at command line Linux and need a GUI :)

Cheers

Giles

Subject: [elrepo-devel] Kernel-ml and Enterprise Linux 5 -- A Consultation

Currently the ELRepo Project has three kernel-ml package sets
available for EL5 --

kernel-ml-2.6.35-14.1.el5.elrepo
kernel-ml-2.6.39-4.1.el5.elrepo
kernel-ml-3.0.44-1.el5.elrepo

Of those three sets, only the first will allow a fully functional GUI
experience to be obtained and only the last is being supported with
bug/security fixes from kernel.org, upstream.

We would like to know if there is any interest in the provision of a
kernel-ml-3.6.0-1.el5.elrepo package set, which would result from a
build using the current latest stable tarball from upstream.

Your comments and opinions will be appreciated, please.

Thank you,

The ELRepo Team.
