Hi Alan,
Mostly it is a half formed thought, so ambiguity is not surprising!
Lets say some user is tied into the 3.10 kernel on an el6 box for
"reasons"[1], some kernel-lt users on el6 might find it comforting to
switch to a "kernel-el7" branch. With the code being el7 kernel - but
packaged up for el6 systems.
I'm not sure if this is
a) a good idea
b) has anyone actually interested
c) builds with things other than devtoolset-3 compilers
d) has the hardware support[2]
I've no opinions on this and don't need the functionality myself. But I
didn't see anyone float the concept, and who knows, it might be
interesting to someone on the list.
