These packages provide the latest ATI Catalyst driver [v10.11] for
Linux. The kernel module is built to depend upon the specific ABI
provided by a range of releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel
and not on any one specific build, and is kABI compatible with all
kernels from 5.3 (kernel-2.6.18-128.el5) upwards.
You may install these drivers by:
yum --enablerepo=elrepo-testing install kmod-fglrx
The ELRepo team wishes to thank Marco Giunta for his contributions and
invaluable help and assistance in creating these packages.
Thank you,
The ELRepo Team.
NOTES:
These driver packages are a first test release and have not yet been
tested. We are looking for feedback to help improve these packages.
Please uninstall any previous installations of the ATI Catalyst drivers
before installing these packages. You may need to reinstall mesa-libGL
as I understand the ATI package overwrites /usr/lib{64}/libGL.so.1.2
After installation, please reboot your system. The packages should
simply work. If they don't, what did you need to fix in order to get
them working?
Some feedback that would be useful and things we would specifically like
tested:
1. Does the "radeon" driver (or any others) need to be blacklisted? We
have not blacklisted any drivers in this release.
2. Are any kernel options required (modesetting etc)?
3. Can you test the xen variant on a xen kernel?
4. Please can you show the output from 'ldd /usr/bin/glxgears'. Output
obtained when using the ATI drivers *and* our package would be even better.
