hey Dag,
I suspect you didn't have any problems because you don't have any
installed apps requiring the 32-bit compat parts of the driver, which
got split out of nvidia-x11-drv between versions 190.42-1.el5.elrepo and
195.36.03-1.el5.elrepo .
There is now nvidia-x11-drv-32bit with those 32-bit compat parts, the
same way you had it with the dkms-nvidia-* packages in rf.
This is what posed problem for apt: it wanted to install
dkms-nvidia-drv-32bit.185.18.14-1.nodist.rf to satisfy a dep I have on
the 32 bit parts (due to adobe reader), instead of installing the new
nvidia-x11-drv-32bit from elrepo.
But a manual install solved this easily, np!
