[elrepo] LAN driver install w/o network?

Still not working and its a mystery why.  I rebooted of course, before
issuing the following shell commads:

[root at localhost jabowery]# lspci | grep net
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Device 1083 (rev c0)
[root at localhost jabowery]# lspci -n|grep 03:00.0
03:00.0 0200: 1969:1083 (rev c0)
[root at localhost jabowery]# grep -i 1969 /lib/modules/*/modules.alias|grep
1083
alias pci:v00001969d00001083sv*sd*bc*sc*i* atl1e
[root at localhost jabowery]# ifconfig
