Announcing the release of updated kmod-coretemp packages into the EL5
elrepo extras repository:
http://elrepo.org/tiki/kmod-coretemp
This package provides an updated coretemp driver backported from
kernel-2.6.39.4 that is kABI compatible with all kernels from 5.5
(kernel-2.6.18-194.el5) onwards. This release fixes TjMax detection on
some older CPUs.
It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of
releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one
specific build.
The following files are currently syncing to the mirrors:
x86
kmod-coretemp-1.1-10.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
kmod-coretemp-PAE-1.1-10.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
x86_64
kmod-coretemp-1.1-10.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
src
coretemp-kmod-1.1-10.el5.elrepo.src.rpm
You may update your system by:
yum --enablerepo=elrepo-extras update kmod-coretemp
Once the package has been updated, remember to unload the old driver
before loading the new version into the kernel:
/sbin/modprobe -r coretemp
/sbin/modprobe coretemp
Thank you,
The ELRepo Team.
