Announcing the release of updated OpenAFS packages into the EL5 and EL6
elrepo repository.
These packages bring both EL5 and EL6 to OpenAFS version 1.6.1. For
anyone running OpenAFS servers on 1.6.0 this corrects a serious file
corruption bug. Numerous other bugs have been fixed to improve client
performance as well.
For EL5 users the new OpenAFS client will upgrade the 1.4.x series
clients very transparently and offer a noticeable performance
improvement and also ensure EL5 users continue to have access to a
supported version of OpenAFS. OpenAFS servers wishing to upgrade from
1.4.x to 1.6.x may do so by upgrading the RPMs and restarting the AFS
services.
The following files are currently syncing to the mirrors:

For OpenAFS servers you may update your system by:
# yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrepo upgrade openafs-server
# bos restart localhost -localauth -bosserver
For OpenAFS client machines you may update your system by:
# yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrep upgrade openafs-client
A reboot is recommended to successfully load the new kernel module.
Thank you,
