ELRepo Mailing List.
I'm in the process of bringing up a CentOS V6.4 server and I'm not able to
install a valid ATI Radeon Video Driver and I'm hoping that this list can
point me in the right direction.
Now I'm a Noob to setting up CentOS so maybe I'm missing something simple.
Here is the configuration.
HARDWARE
Motherboard: MSI 990FXA-GD65
Chip Set: AMD 990FX and AMD SB950
Memory: 6 Gig DDR3
Video Card: HIS HD 2600 Pro with ATI Radeon HD 2600 Chipset
The server isn't doing much graphics, so I don't need a high end video
board, plus because it is an older board I hopped that the drivers would be
available.
OS
Centos V6.4 64bit configuration
X11 system
DRIVERS
I've installed ELRepo based on the www.elrepo.org web site
I've installed the ATI drivers with:
yum install kmod-fglrx fglrx-x11-drv
both installed properly with kmod-fglrx Version 13.1-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64
which looks to be the latest.
I understand that I need to initialize the drivers with:
aticonfig --initial it gives Error:
No Supported Adapters Detected.
when I start AMD Catalyst Control Center it gives Error:
No AMD Graphics driver is installed or the AMD driver is not
functioning properly.
when I go to PREFERENCES-> DISPLAY it limits the display sizes to a max of
1024 X 768 as a max which looks like it doesn't have a video driver. The
display is Unknown.
IS there a different driver set for this older video board or am I missing
someting in the basic CentOS configuration?
Thanks for the help.
Pierce
