At least you appear to have isolated the issue.

The 310.44 release only (to the best of my knowledge) fixed a security 
issue:

so it seems somewhat strange that it appears to have introduced a bug 
for you.

If nothing in the above announcement rings any bells with you then I 
would suggest this is an issue you need to follow up with the folks an 
NVIDIA.

BTW, I've just released the latest 319.17 drivers to the elrepo 
repository. You might like to give those a try and see if they work (or 
not) for you.
