sure, its only in the el5 repo.

I don't see any driver in the main distro package. 

$ rpm -qpl http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6.5/updates/x86_64/Packages/kernel-2.6.32-431.23.3.el6.x86_64.rpm 2>/dev/null | grep 1394
$ (empty)

the centos.plus kernel don't have it too. 



they are in elrepo's kmod package for el5 only
