Thanks. As I said I'm unable to replicate your issue on RHEL6 with the
latest nvidia driver. I don't see anything in my logs and the program
exits normally.

As we only repackage the upstream NVIDIA binary for nvidia-settings, I
suspect you will need to file a bug report with NVIDIA. It's not
something we can fix.
