If you have the time, try using kdump ( from the kexec-tools rpm )

All I can say is that the test VM I have access to boots just fine ( but
it has no ATI hardware... ):
[wolfy at Chroot64R7 ~]$ uptime
  09:31:27 up 34 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.05
[wolfy at Chroot64R7 ~]$ ls
fglrx-x11-drv-15.9-3.el7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
kmod-fglrx-15.9-3.el7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
[wolfy at Chroot64R7 ~]$ rpm -qa kmod-f\*
kmod-fglrx-15.9-3.el7.elrepo.x86_64
[wolfy at Chroot64R7 ~]$ uname -a
Linux Chroot64R7 3.10.0-327.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Oct 29 17:29:29 EDT
2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Which means that the package does get installed properly and at least
theoretically there are no flagrant incompatibilities / different ABI
that would affect the relation between the module and the kernel.

Just wondering: does it boot with the kernel from 7.2 if you yum remove
kmod-fglrx ?
