That is indeed very peculiar as I can't seem to get it to work at all, I 
have a Radeon R7 in the machine I'm testing. I was able to get the AMD 
supplied RPM to work with little difficulty; I just had to create a few 
selinux policies in order to get gdm working.

When using this version I was getting the following message during boot:
"No UMS support in radeon module"

Additionally when using both this version and the AMD rpm, I was getting 
lots of messages around unclean mounting of the file-system.

I've since freshly loaded CentOS and can confirm that I get the same 
results.
