[elrepo] nVidia issue on CentOS 7

Hi, all.
I've installed CentOS 7 on a desktop system that has a GeForce GTX 660. A
couple things I do on the system will benefit from the nVidia drivers, so I
added ElRepo and installed kmod-nvidia. On rebooting, I got the blinking
cursor at the top-left of my screen that seems to be a not-uncommon issue.
Unfortunately, I can confirm that the package added the right stuff to
disable Nouveau in GRUB and added the modprobe blacklist file, and I am *not*
on a UEFI system.
I deleted the glamor package and dependencies after seeing the package
complain, and then for good measure I deleted and re-installed kmod-nvidia,
but I'm evidently missing something as it's not working.
I'd be grateful for debugging tips.
I haven't tried using nVidia's installer yet, but I'd rather use a DKMS
package in any event.
Thanks in advance for clues.
