Not sure if it can help, but I have a GTX 660 here working fine with the
elrepo-provided nvidia driver, although it's running centos 6.

Data that may be useful:

[nthierry at localhost ~]$ rpm -qa | grep nvidia
nvidia-detect-352.41-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64
yum-plugin-nvidia-1.0.2-1.el6.elrepo.noarch
kmod-nvidia-352.41-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64
nvidia-x11-drv-32bit-352.41-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64
nvidia-x11-drv-352.41-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64

$ lspci -vv -s 01:00.0
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK106 [GeForce GTX
660] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
<snip>
	Kernel driver in use: nvidia
	Kernel modules: nvidia, nouveau, nvidiafb
