[elrepo] how to get the amd driver working on RHEL 7 ?

Manuel, thanks for your detailed reply, too late for me now but I will
follow your indications and redo the tests tomorrow.

In fact, quite all the strange things you noticed are coming from the
following:

1. I  installed RHEL 7 on a new disk (removing temporarily the old one)
because I was not able to make RHEL7's installation process into a free
partition to succeed, that is to be bootable.
(the installation process also messed up my previous RHEL 6 boot).

2. Finally I was able to add again the old disk, and with a
grub2-mkconfig to boot again the old RHEL 6.

3. Than, being much too confident, I  installed the AMD driver and lost
my Xserver at first reboot. I was not able to restore the "before amd's
fglrx" state, and had to re-install.

4.  I didn't want to replay this again and again, so since I had an
other unused partition, I rsync(ed) the RHEL 7 into it and replayed
grub2-mkconfig to get a second bootable (and mess-able) RHEL 7.


And as you found out, the "first level" second RHEL 7 boot menu entry
(the one I used for the test) is not the "updated one", so I will
cleanup this in grub.cfg
( kernel 3.10.0-327.10.1.el7.x86_64 ) before doing the next tests.

About the "real AMD hardware" in my machine, the 4 elements of
information at my disposal are:

1. the bill who says "AMD FirePro M6100 with 2GB GDDR5"
2. the fact that AMD's  amd-driver-installer-15.20.1046-x86.x86_64.zip
works on RHEL 6.
3. the lspci of RHEL 6: it says (also):

4. the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file of RHEL 6.: found following in it:
