I see that the verbose mode did not really add useful info. Does the smbclient command work?
In any case, there isn't much we (elrepo) can help here unless we have samba experts around. I would suggest you ask on the samba mailing list. The solution could be something simple for those who are familiar with samba.
I am not using samba in this use-case, simply mounting a CIFS share off of an EMC/Isilon
