Dear All,
Please forgive me if this question has been answered already: I try to
search for it but could not find the answer.
I'm running Centos 7.5 with the elrepo kernel
kernel-lt-4.4.165-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64.
Virtualbox requests the kernel headers (it was working ok for the Centos
stock kernel 3.10.something).
"""
# /sbin/vboxconfig
vboxdrv.sh: Stopping VirtualBox services.
vboxdrv.sh: Starting VirtualBox services.
vboxdrv.sh: Building VirtualBox kernel modules.
This system is currently not set up to build kernel modules.
Please install the Linux kernel "header" files matching the current kernel
for adding new hardware support to the system.
The distribution packages containing the headers are probably:
kernel-devel kernel-devel-4.4.165-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64

There were problems setting up VirtualBox. To re-start the set-up
process, run
/sbin/vboxconfig
as root.
"""
As suggested on the elrepo webpage:
"When you see a message like "your kernel headers for kernel xxx cannot
be found ...", you most likely need the *kernel-lt-devel* package, not
the kernel-lt-headers package."
But when I try to install it, it is not available:
"""
# yum --enablerepo=elrepo-kernel install kernel-lt-devel
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks

* base: centos.cu.be

* extras: centos.cu.be
* ius: mirror.ehv.weppel.nl
* nux-dextop: mirror.li.nux.ro
* updates: centos.cu.be
No package kernel-lt-devel available.
Error: Nothing to do
"""
Many thanks upfront for a solution to my virtualbox issue.
Kind regards,
Frederic
