Thank you both for the request.

I have built the following package for you which I have released to the 
elrepo testing repository. Packages should be available on the mirrors 
shortly:

kmod-mlx4-4.0-1.el8_1.elrepo.src.rpm
kmod-mlx4-4.0-1.el8_1.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

https://elrepo.org/linux/testing/el8/x86_64/RPMS/

The package is built for el8.1. I have taken the source code from the 
RHEL8.1 kernel (4.18.0-147.el8) and simply rebuilt with MLX4_CORE_GEN2 
defined. From a quick examination of the source code I think this is all 
that is required.

Please can you test and let me know if the driver works for you.

Grigory - please can I have the vendor:device id from the output of 
'lspci -nn' for your device (especially if the above driver doesn't work 
for you) - thanks.
