[elrepo] Error in downloading metadata

Greetings,

 

I am trying to configure the elrepo repository in "dnf"  and am getting an
error "Error: Failed to download metadata for repo 'elrepo.org'

 

I am running Centos 8 and followed the directions on the elrepo homepage to
import the public key and to install ELRepo.  

 

In configuring, dnf to add the ELRepo repository, I used the following two
commands:

 

dnf config-manager --add-repo https://www.elrepo.org

dnf config-manage  --set-enabled https://www.elrepo.org 

 

for all the dnf commands, I get the error above.   Any advice is
appreciated.
