You probably noticed they're in the weak-updates/ directory. There
should be symlinks in there that point to installed modules in a
previous release of a kernel.
The `weak-modules` command is run with the kmod listed, and it creates
the symlink for the kernels. You might be getting an error from
depmod if the symlink is broken.
