A definitive answer must come from Alan, but I can share what I know.
Sometimes (or often times?), an update to the kernel gets posted to
kernel.org within a day because a "missed" patch must be added. So we
talked about a possible introduction of "intentional" delays to the release
of our kernels.
We also found that initramfs of kernel-ml/lt is not regenerated upon
microcode_ctl update (see https://elrepo.org/bugs/view.php?id=1012 for
example). We are working on this issue at the moment.
