There was a kABI breakage for kmod-e1000e in the EL7_9 kernels. The
kmod-e1000e package built for the 7.9 GA kernel will not work for
kernel-3.10.0-1160.36.2.el7 or later.
As Trevor noted, you need to update kmod-e1000e to get it to work for
the current kernel.
