I am currently running SL7 on my desktop and I have a e100
ethernet card as a dedicated ethernet bridge for my VMs.
Unfortunately the latest kernel that works with the current
build of the module os 3.10.0-514.26.2.el7. I testing this on
SL7 and CentOS7 and received the same resullts.

Attempting to install the module without that kernel will pull
the kernel as a dependency.

Besides the obvious of buying a new/supported ethernet card, can
this module be updated to support the newer kernels, or would it
require building the kernel with skb_clone_tx_timestamp
enabled. What other options do I have to get this card
functional with newer kernels.

Hi Greg,
<br>
<br>
There is an updated kmod-e100 package available in the testing
repo built specifically for el7.4.
<br>
<br>
You can install/update it with:
<br>
<br>
yum --enablerepo=elrepo-testing update kmod-e100
<br>
<br>
Note: the updated package is only compatible with the el7.4 kernel
and is not backward compatible with earlier kernels so you will
need to update and then reboot into your latest el7.4 kernel.
<br>
<br>
Here is a direct link in case you should require:
<br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://elrepo.org/linux/testing/el7/x86_64/RPMS/kmod-e100-3.5.24-2.el7_4.elrepo.x86_64.rpm">http://elrepo.org/linux/testing/el7/x86_64/RPMS/kmod-e100-3.5.24-2.el7_4.elrepo.x86_64.rpm</a>
<br>
<br>
Once I've received positive feedback the new package works, I'll
move it to the main repo.
<br>
<br>
Phil
