Indeed. I guess the difference, or reason, is that the nvidia kernel 
module is called nvidia.ko whereas the ATI driver module is of course 
named fglrx.ko and traditionally kmod package names have been based on 
the name of the module they provide. Hence the current naming. But yes, 
I agree, the naming isn't ideal.

Interestingly rpmfusion have renamed their offering from fglrx to 
catalyst at some point in the past.

Perhaps once I get the Wiki page up for these drivers and load it with 
keywords such as ATI and Catalyst that will help those searching for 
drivers.
