Hi

I'm trying to get a WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 [http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_novahds2.html] card working on CentOS 5.4 (x64). In the past it has worked on earlier versions of CentOS (using a variety of approaches, e.g. the plus kernel/v4l-dvb compiled from source/atrpms video4linux mod, etc) but I'm unable to get it working now.

I noticed that El Repo offers a kmod and have tried to use it with my system:

# uname -a
Linux telly.XXXXXX.com 2.6.18-164.2.1.el5 #1 SMP Wed Sep 30 12:52:46 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

# rpm -qa kmod-video*
kmod-video4linux-0.0-5.20090615.el5.elrepo

# lspci (parts snipped)
03:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
03:00.1 Multimedia controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [Audio Port] (rev 05)
03:00.2 Multimedia controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [MPEG Port] (rev 05)
03:00.4 Multimedia controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [IR Port] (rev 05)

Unfortunately the card does not appear to be recognised when I boot (though another, different, DVB[-T] card in the same machine works fine).

Looking at old logs from when the card worked it was previously recognised as:

telly kernel: cx88[0]: subsystem: 0070:6906, board: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000(Lite) DVB-S/S2 [card=69,autodetected], frontend(s): 1

I have tried "modprobe cx88_dvb" (is this the correct module?) but receive the following output:

Any ideas please? I'd like to stick with CentOS if at all possible but do need this card to work! Please let me know if you need more information.

Many thanks for your help
