Announcing the release of the updated kmod-powernow-k8 package in the
elrepo-testing repository:
http://elrepo.org/tiki/kmod-powernow-k8
This package provides a patched powernow-k8.ko module allowing for
per-core power control on newer AMD processors.
It has been provided as a result of a bugzilla report:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=502397
and is based on the code in kernel-2.6.194.el5.
It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of
releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one
specific build.
NOTE1: The existing package 0.0-2 was built for el5.3 (kernel
2.6.18-128) and is known to work for newer releases including el5.5.
NOTE2: Due to the appearance of a bug in el5.5, *updating* of kmod
packages is broken with el5.5.
Depending whether the updated
module-init-tools-3.3-0.pre3.1.60.el5.elrepo package has already been
installed, it may be necessary for users of el5.5 to *install* this
package by:
yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrepo-testing install kmod-powernow-k8
Thank you,
The ELRepo Team.
