[elrepo] Recompile ernel-ml-2.6.38-2.el5 with make = error

Hi @all,

I need to recompile the kernel from your Website

   kernel-ml-2.6.38-2.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm.

Can you give me some tips how I can do this? I installed the deveopment 
kernel package

   kernel-ml-devel-2.6.38-2.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

and tried to compile with make  but I got the following error message:

   CHK     include/linux/version.h
   CHK     include/generated/utsrelease.h
   CALL    scripts/checksyscalls.sh
   make[1]: *** No rule to make target `init/main.o', needed by
   `init/built-in.o'.  Stop.
   make: *** [init] Error 2


I'm new to CentOS / EPL and need the Ceph-module aktivated....
