[elrepo] Question about nvidia/radeon

Hello,

    Not sure if this is the right place the ask, but I would think so
since elrepo is a repository which has drivers for different

hardware. I'm planning on buying a new video card, but I'm not sure
whether to choose a nvidia or radeon  card. I have

done some search and I've read posts that say when you want good
performance go for nvidia.  How true is that,

and if so is that difference of performance big enough to notice? I've
found good documentation on the amd site for their

radeon drivers, and their drivers are opensource(so that's a plus). I've
always had nvidia cards, and using elrepo to

install/update drivers I've never had a problem. So I find it a hard
choice to make, that's why I would like some opinions

of people actually know a bit more about  hardware and from people who
know a bit about drivers and such. That way

it will hopefully making a decision for which to go for a bit easier ;)
