Since Alan just announced kernel-lt-4.4.152, why don't you give it a  
spin ?
Anyway, if 4.4.150 works and if 4.4.152 works too, maybe it was a 
regression in 4.4.151. If 4.4.150 works but later ones do not
- there could be a configuration change in elrepo's config in which case 
you could compare the config files and try to identify the change, or
- there could be a regression in the kernel code, in which case you 
should file a bug at kernel.org

You could also try to compare the configurations of 4.4 and 4.18
